THE DANCE SCHOLARSHIP TRUST

Registered Charity No. 802135

THE SOCIETY FOR THE PROTECTION OF ANCIENT BUILDINGS

37 Spital Square, London E1 6DY

The principle aims of The Dance Scholarship Trust are:

· To promote the sympathetic repair and conservation of our historic building heritage through the highly specialised training given by the SPAB Scholarships.

· To carry on the tradition of this unique form of professional training through the handing down of knowledge from one generation to another.

· To ensure that there is a permanent capital fund that will endow at least one Scholarship in perpetuity.

The Dance Scholarship Trust Committee is made up of former Scholars. To date the money raised by the Trust has enabled us to support at least one Scholar a year. The present Committee are working to raise enough capital to enable the Trust to fund two Scholars annually.

‘It is the awareness of constructional matters, of the capacity and ability of materials, of the building tradesman, and thereafter the effects of all three on the continuing passage of time, which is the hallmark of the SPAB Scholar.’ Donald Insall CBE, Scholar 1950
